At Transurban, safety is our highest priority - both on our roads and in our offices. Our vision is to ensure that all employees, clients, contractors and visitors are free from harm while in our workplace or undertaking work activities - so they can return home safely at the end of each day.

In recent years, we have focused our attention on improving our safety systems, reducing ergonomic related injuries in our offices and communicating regular safety education messages to our employees.

AS4801 certification

In October 2010 Transurban achieved AS4801 (Australian Standard) certification for its safety systems. This was an important achievement for our business given our commitment to safety.

WHS employee committee

Transurban has many WHS committees with representation from across our business, including our contractors. Some of the committees' initiatives have included regular WorkSafe Week activities, ergonomic exercise/stretching programs and a safety awareness program.

Safety leadership

We provide leadership on the importance of safety in every aspect of our work. All levels of management exhibit individual responsibility for their own safety and for the safety of others.
